Yoga for Backs & Bones
A gentle yoga class focusing on building back strength through work in poses which
- strengthen muscles,
- increase range and flexibility,
- address and alleviate back pain,
- improve spinal posture, and
- maintain bone density.
Other integral supporting and dependent muscles and structures such as the neck, shoulders, and abdominal core are challenged in bodyweight-bearing strength and flexibility poses. As in all yoga practices at Breathe, a side effect of breath-centered poses and relaxation technique is the reduction of the stress hormone cortisol which will help maintain calcium in your bones.
