Mindful Moving Kids - Feb 2025

February 4, 2025

Ages 5-12 are welcome to join Beth Hardy for this 4-week Mindful Moving Kids February session! We’ll be learning yoga poses, breathing techniques, practicing mindfulness activities, and playing games that use yoga to foster self-awareness and self-regulation as well as executive functioning skills. Your child(ren) will move, breathe, play, and connect for a 60-minute class, small group size class, which allows Beth to apply her expertise as a school psychologist to tailor the class to every student’s needs.

Balkan Fusion Dance Series

February 15, 2025

This dance style originates from Southwestern Europe (Bulgaria, Serbia, Croatia) and is based on a walking step that is in unison with fellow dancers.  We will play with flowy Balkan skirts to a choreography. Skirts will be provided by instructor.

Kundalini Yoga & Art Series: Exploring the Chakras

Join guest teacher Hope Katz Gibbs, a certified Kundalini and Yin Yoga teacher, to deepen your understanding of Kundalini yoga and the chakras in this 8-class series.  Kundalini Yoga is a yoga practice that involves chanting, singing, breathing exercises, and repetitive poses. The purpose of this practice is to activate your Kundalini energy, or shakti — the spiritual energy that’s said to be located at the base of your spine.  As Kundalini energy rises, it’s believed to help balance the chakras and contribute to your spiritual wellness and awareness.  Each 90-min session will include yoga, meditation and a small art project designed to help ground your practice and dive deeper into your chakras. Each class will focus on a different theme and chakra.

Healing and Recovery Through Yoga

Join us for a laid-back, heart-centered workshop where we’ll explore the deep connection between yoga and the journey to recovery from addiction. We’ll uncover yoga techniques, tools, and tips for managing the impact of stress on the body and discover insights from the ancient wisdom of the yoga sutras to guide our path forward. We will enjoy a gentle yoga practice, for anyone new to yoga, seasoned, or anywhere in between. Through this session, we will nurture the body and mind, support inner stability and connection to ourselves and the world around us, and find support from the community .

March Meditative Music and Sound Bath w/Dante

March 7, 2025

Join Dante Baker on Friday evening, March 7 at 6:30pm for a unique and captivating sound experience! Let him lead you into a comfortable and receptive state to support deep relaxation. Dante will use sound healing instruments like crystal singing bowls, antique metal singing bowls, wooden drone flutes, pan drum drums, and chimes. Once the sound bath begins, allow the vibrations to soothe the mind, clear any blockages within the body, and guide you into the present moment. Discover the powerful and healing effects of singing bowls and experience sounds that will re-harmonize the entire body.

 

Family Yoga -Once Monthly

March 15, 2025

Adults and their littles ages 4-9 are invited to join Beth on Sundays, once monthly, at 3pm for a Family Yoga class.  We will practice breathwork, poses, and some silliness to have fun while strengthening our bodies and bonds. The child in all of us will appreciate getting to move, breathe, and regulate together!
$25 per adult/child pair, +$8 per additional family member

Special Donation Class: Gentle Yoga with Sound Bath

March 21, 2025

This relaxing yoga class is a combination of gentle and restorative yoga with a short meditation to nourish the body and the mind. It is a soothing and relaxing practice to calm the body and guide the awareness to the present moment with the breath.   We will quiet the mind and rejuvenate the body with gentle poses and transitions, then move to comfortable restorative postures and end with sound bowls where the mind is awake, and the body is completely relaxed. Proceeds to support the Fairfax Library Foundation.

The Groove Gathering is a community drum circle where rhythm, connection, and creativity come together. Whether you’re a seasoned drummer or a first-timer, everyone is welcome to join the beat! Bring your own drum or feel free to use one of the instruments provided. Let the rhythm guide you as we create a vibrant, inclusive space to connect with others and explore the power of collective sound. No experience necessary—just bring your energy and get ready to groove and enjoy the many physical and mental benefits that drumming in community can provide!
