Sometimes, stretching alone is not enough. Learn simple and effective techniques to release tightness and pain throughout your myofascial tissues, the thick connective tissue that you have throughout your body. Lana will show you how to massage your body, from head to toe, using your choice of foam rollers and/or massage balls. You’ll walk out feeling like a new person!

Equipment: Tennis balls and foam rollers will be available at the studio for you to use. Because it's difficult to find golf balls of the right density, Lana will provide the firm, foam golf balls for you to take home with you.  Class participants are welcome to bring additional equipment if they'd like, using appropriate items you already have around the house. If you have previously taken Lana’s workshop and purchased a pre-assembled kit, you can use that as well. This is an example of a reasonably-priced kit on Amazon. You might want to bring with you:

  • An approximately 36”-long foam roller (density of the foam and surface texture are personal preference); AND/OR
  • A variety of massage balls. Lana recommends one, or more, of the following: lacrosse ball (if you prefer firmer pressure), small peanut massage roller (like this one), spikey massage ball


Lana Lau

Lana began practicing yoga in 2010 when she suffered from debilitating back pain. She found relief in yoga when painkillers, muscle relaxants and chiropractic treatments were ineffective. Lana wants to share the same sense of joy, inner peace and physical well-being she enjoys from her yoga practice with her students.
