Are you Interested in Learning How to Keep Your Body Safe and Build Strength and Mobility for Longevity

If you answered yes to any of these questions, then join Karin for this is YOGA 101 class, which is divided into two 90-MINUTE SESSIONS.  This workshop  will teach you how to improve not only your yoga practice but also  your activities of daily life.  This class is designed for both the novice and experienced practitioner to dive deeper into your own movement habit patterns and discover ways to enhance your yoga practice, overcome obstacles, and prevent injury. We will use props and to learn how to adjust a pose to individual needs that enhance the yoga experience.  This series is intended to be informal and interactive, encouraging Q&A throughout.  

EXPECT TO LEARN:

· Types of Yoga offered at Breathe

· Breathing Techniques and Core activation

· How to stabilize your body in postures /poses

· Names of basic yoga poses AND how to align YOUR body within the pose.

· How to recognize your body’s cues, and increase your personal awareness as you move

This a two-session workshop, with each session lasting 90 minutes.  Session 1:  Oct 12 @ 11:00- 12: 30 and Session 2: Oct 19 @ 11:00 - 12:30. This is a progressive series and participants are encouraged to attend each week.  $70 for the two-class session or $90 for the two-class session plus 3 weeks of unlimited classes (valid Oct 12 thru Nov 1)

SESSION 1: Breath and Core Activation,  Beginning standing poses, Static vs. dynamic movement

SESSION 2 : Static & Dynamic Movement, Beginning Standing Balances, Twists and Rotations, basic sun salutation.



Karin Landrum

A fitness professional for over 25 years, Karin has a background in physical therapy and received her 200 RYT in 2010. She is also a Certified Personal Trainer, having officially earned that certification in 2024 with ASFA (American Sports & Fitness Association). Injury/overuse led Karin to yoga which she feels is a personal journey teaching the individual about his/herself. Her focus in class is using proper form and alignment and honoring the place where we are today. Karin is a military spouse and has lived all over the world. She believes in the power of positive thinking and has used yoga to help trauma survivors and individuals struggling with PTSD. She has completed her 100-hour Warrior certification, focusing on using yoga to overcome traumatic events and anxiety. Karin loves to cook and prefers doing something outdoors to staying home and cleaning the house!
