Reservations & Membership Options

You should wear comfortable workout clothes that allow for lots of movement. Yoga is usually done barefoot or in yoga socks. Most of our classes do not require shoes, but some recommend sturdy athletic shoes. If shoes are recommended, it will be mentioned in the class description and, when taking an in-studio class, we ask that you bring your shoes with you and change into them once you are inside the studio, to avoid tracking dirt and grime onto our studio floor.
All confirmation messages will be via email. The only time you will receive a text message regarding a class is if you are moved off of the waitlist or if there is a last-minute alert due to a weather issue, power issue, instructor illness, etc.
All class passes are valid for a specific time period and will expire regardless of whether or not the classes have been used. Choose your membership option carefully if you think there is a chance you will need to cancel. Only in extreme and unforeseen circumstances (such as a medical necessity) would we be able to extend your pass for an additional period of time.
No refunds are given for absences due to vacation. However, we are open to putting your membership on hold in some individual situations, primarily due to medical necessity.
Contact us at and we'll be happy to help you with that!

Yes, we offer a 10% discount off of most of our membership options (video memberships not included) for Active Military, Police, Firefighters, FCPS Teachers and Seniors 65+. Please Contact us to discuss receiving this discount. Valid ID will be required.

We also occasionally offer membership specials which we promote via emails, social media and in-studio.

We ask that you sign up for class in advance to ensure that there is plenty of room for everyone to move about and so that the instructors can see you and you can see your instructor.

If you are unable to reserve space in an in-studio class that is full, we highly recommend you put yourself on the waitlist. Should space open up in a class in which you are waitlisted, you will receive an email at least  60 minutes prior to class time alerting you that you have been admitted into the class. Occasionally, if there is a late-cancel by phone, we will try to contact you via text or phone to let you know there is space if you're able to take it.

Adding your name to the waitlist on the website: Go the Classes>Schedule page. If the class you want to attend is full, there will be a purple WAITLIST button. Click this button to put your name on the waitlist.

If a place opens up in the studio and you are moved off of the waitlist, you will receive both a text message and an email letting you know. If you have changed your mind and no longer want to attend the class, you must click the link in the message to let us know. Otherwise, you will be charged for the class.

Any annual membership cancelled prior to its 12-month termination date will be charged a $75 cancellation fee. Written notice of cancellation must be provided at least 30 days prior to the monthly anniversary of the membership in order to prevent the next monthly charge from processing. This fee will be waived in the case of active-duty military who can provide proof of military orders (or with proof of any move out of the Northern Virginia area) or due to onset of medical conditions which would prohibit long-term participation in any of the activities/classes offered at the studio (in most cases a "hold" would be provided in those instances).

Yes!  And we highly recommend downloading the CowTinker app (from Google Play or the App Store) in order to easily reserve and cancel space in class.

The CowTinker app (available on Google Play or the App Store) makes it extremely easy to cancel your reservation. Open the app and go to "My Classes". You will see a list of any classes for which you have a reservation. To cancel your reservation, click CANCEL under the class you want to cancel. Remember, to avoid a no-show fee, you must cancel your reservation at least 60 minutes prior to the start of class.

You can also cancel your reservations from our website. Once you are logged in, click on the person icon all the way over on the upper right and select Manage Account from the pulldown menu. Select the Visits tab to see your past class history and future reservations. Click the CANCEL button for any class you wish to cancel.

You will receive an email confirming your cancellation. It will look like this:

We do ask that you cancel your reservations at least 60 minutes prior to class time to avoid the no-show fee and to allow others a space in the class. The no-show fee is an administrative charge that we do not want to charge anyone, but it's proven necessary so that everyone gets into the habit of cancelling any space reservations they are unable to honor. In many instances, not cancelling your space reservation takes that spot away from someone else. We do understand that things come up . . .bad traffic, sudden illness of you or a loved one, etc and we will make exceptions to the no-show fee if necessary and if not excessive.

The best way to find out what classes you have reserved is to download the CowTinker app (from Google Play or the App Store) and click on "My Classes". You will see a list of any classes for which you have reservations.

You can also log into your account from our website. Once you are logged in, click on the person icon all the way over on the upper right and select Manage Account from the pulldown menu. Select the Visits tab to see your past class history and future reservations.

Using the website: Sign up for your class at least 60 minutes prior to class time.  Go to Classes>Schedule and click on the class you wish to attend. If a class is offered both in-studio and online, it will be clearly marked on the schedule. Click on the type of attendance you prefer, in-studio or online. Remember, outdoor classes are considered "in-studio" because they are in person. Once you have a spot reserved in an online class, you can also access the class by clicking on the green camera icon within 10 minutes of class starting.

Using the app: Go to My Studios and select Breathe. Then click on the Classes tab. Use the green arrows at the top to scroll through the dates. The green buttons under the class name and instructor will tell you whether the class is offered instudio and/or online. Click on the one you prefer. Once your reservation has been made, the button will change to white and say CANCEL.

Within a few minutes of making a class reservation you will receive a confirmation email indicating the name, date and time of class in the subject line. If it is an online class, the message will contain a link you will use to access the class. Fifteen minutes before your online class is scheduled to begin, you will receive a reminder message which also contains the link. If you click on the link from your phone, you can take the class using your phone. If you click on the link from your computer, you can take the class on your computer.

If you click on the link within 10 minutes of class starting you will see a countdown clock. If it is more than 10 minutes before the class is scheduled to begin, you will see something similar to this asking you to check back closer to start time. You might need to refresh your screen when you check back.

Studio Classes

Yes. We will have hand sanitizer placed right next to the water cooler.

Unless it's a specialty class tailored to kids or teens, the youngest age is 13, if accompanied by a parent. Ages 16+ are welcome to attend class on their own providing they are members and cognizant of the focused behavior needed in class. Minors must have a waiver on file signed by a parent or guardian.

Unfortunately, our studio is not set up with a childcare area and, therefore, it's not feasible for your children to sit in the back while you're taking class. It's not only a potential liability for the studio, but is also a distraction for the instructor and class members. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Yes. There are 2 entrances to the professional complex (Rolling Mill Office Park) where Breathe is located. One is from the Whole Foods Parking lot (near the Capital One Bank) and the other is from Old Keene Mill Rd. We are located at the far end of the complex, in the back. Look for the Breathe Body and Mind sign. We are to the RIGHT of the sign, on the lower corner. There is plenty of unassigned and free parking literally steps away from the studio!

While we do have a limited supply of mats and other items at the studio that you can use, we highly recommend that you bring your own mat and other soft, porous props until further notice . . .this means blankets, blocks, bolsters, sandbags, straps or eye bags.  We will be allowing use of other studio props (i.e., hand-held weights, stability balls, Bender balls, resistance bands, Pilates rings and the like) and will be asking you to clean them with supplied disinfectant and rags after use.
No.  Our thermostat is generally set at an average of approximately 72°. There are a few Vinyasa classes that are considered "gently heated" up to a max of 78°.  This should be indicated on the schedule page under the name of the class.

Virtual and Outdoor Classes

You may reserve a class via the CowTinker app (from Google Play or the App Store) or via our website.

From our website: Under the Classes tab of our website you will see "Schedule". Some classes on the schedule will offer you the option of "STUDIO" or "ONLINE" classes. For virtual classes, choose ONLINE.

If you click on the link within 10 minutes of class starting you will see a countdown clock. If it is more than 10 minutes before the class is scheduled to begin, you will see something similar to this asking you to check back closer to start time. You might need to refresh your screen when you check back.

When you register for an online class, you will receive a confirmation email with a link to the class.

About 10 minutes before your class is scheduled to begin, log in to your Breathe account

Once logged in, you can return to the confirmation email and click the link to access the class. OR, you can go to the Classes>Schedule page and click on the green camera icon associated with the class for which you are registered and get into the class that way.

If you access either link more than 15 minute before class starts, you will need to refresh your screen as you get closer to class time. Within 15 minutes of class beginning, you will see a countdown clock.

As soon as you enter the class using your link, you will automatically be checked in.

Yes, if you situate your screen appropriately, the instructor should be able to see you if you'd like to be seen! You always have the option to turn your video screen off so you can see and hear the instructor, but remain invisible to the instructor and other students.

We have a few outdoor classes on our schedule. Look for "OUTDOOR" in the location column. You will still be choosing "IN STUDIO" when you reserve your spot because these classes are face to face as opposed to online. (Think of it as an Outdoor Studio).

We do ask that you reserve space in the outdoor classes, as we are currently able to allow a maximum of nine participants, due to social distancing guidelines. Masks are not necessary for outdoor classes, but you can certainly wear a mask if it makes you feel most comfortable.

If your name is on the list of registered students, we will contact you via text message to let you know if we need to cancel an outdoor class, so please ensure that you keep your mobile number up to date in your CowTinker profile and check for messages if the weather looks doubtful.
If your child is age 12 or older and is able to stay quiet and focused, then yes. Although it's outdoors, class participants do still expect and deserve some introspection and quiet.
Gift cards can be purchased on our website by clicking on the shopping cart icon. They can be paid for with a credit card.
Please make sure you bring a mat and any other props you might like to practice with. We'd also recommend that you bring a big beach towel (to place underneath your mat), sunglasses, water bottle, sunscreen (if desired) and insect repellent!

Outdoor classes are held at the Walden Glen Swim & Racquet Club in Cardinal Forest at the opposite end of Carleigh Parkway.  The address is 6126 Harmon Place, Springfield 22152. You must sign up at least 30 min prior to class time so that the front desk knows to expect you.

(If you see MAIN STUDIO on the schedule for the Outdoor classes that is just a function of the way our website works as there is no other default. Think of the outside as the studio, in this case.  It primarily means that the class is an in-person class.)

It completely depends on the class. As we continue to offer virtual classes you might want to consider investing in equipment that is frequently used in the classes you attend virtually. This could mean any/all of the following:  yoga mat, yoga blankets, blocks (or big and sturdy books), yoga straps (or belt, bathrobe sash, scarf, etc), bolsters (or sturdy thick pillows), handheld weights, resistance bands, stability balls, "squishy" lightweight small balls, Pilates rings and more.  Please feel free to ask your instructor or contact us should you have any questions regarding equipment.  We may even have used studio equipment to sell you!
